The Atlanta Falcons became a professional football
franchise on June 30, 1965, making 1966 their inaugural season. It took the Falcons until 1998 to win their first Conference Championship; they were then defeated in Super Bowl XXXIII by the Denver Broncos, 34-19. The newest and most recent chapter of Falcons history came on December 6, 2001. This is the day that retired Home Depot co-founder Arthur M. Blank purchased the Falcons franchise. The Falcons now have a new Head Coach in Jim Mora, and they plan to reach and win the Super Bowl with their tough Defense and the Arms and Legs of Michael Vick. |
